Jacob Brier

Jacob Brier, Esq. is BPA’s General Counsel. Jake oversees all legal affairs, including litigation, corporate matters, contract negotiations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, as well as working with client portfolios. Jake has extensive experience in the financial services and commercial and consumer debt industries, with expertise in federal and state consumer protection and commercial collection laws. He works closely with clients on achieving key initiatives and maintaining adherence to applicable federal and state regulations.

Jake is responsible for the management of over $2 billion of commercial and consumer collection portfolios. He regularly interacts and coordinates with collection agencies, law firms and third-party service providers, and collaborates with them to improve performance on behalf of BPA’s clients and has assisted with the development of compliance objectives, audits, and compliance monitoring as it relates to BPA clients, and vendors.  He also advises clients on industry standards/trends and pending legislative matters affecting relevant industry sectors.

Prior to joining BPA in 2014, Jake managed subrogation claims at a well-regarded Florida law firm and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson in Circuit Court for the 17th Judicial Circuit, in Broward County, Florida. A native of South Florida, Jake earned his BS in Political Science from Florida State University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center.
